Has the Universal Caliphate Emerged from Pennsylvania? Is the CIA Serving the Needs of an Islamist?

White House Muslim Advisor Supports Islamist Gülen Movement

Paul Williams, PhD

Dalia Mogahed, President Barack Obama’s Muslim advisor
The first woman to wear a veil in the White House has endorsed the Gülen movement which seeks to restore the Ottoman Empire and to establish a universal caliphate.
Dalia Mogahed, President Barack Obama’s Muslim advisor, said:
“I think the Gülen movement offers people a model of what is possible if a dedicated group of people work together for the good of the society. I also think that it is an inspiration for other people and Muslims for what they can accomplish.”
Asked about the movement’s hidden agenda, Mogahed told Sunday’s Zaman that she usually does not attach any importance to such allegations.
“It (the Gülen movement) has moved beyond Turkey in its very benevolent projects and it serves people from all around the world of all backgrounds, but it is still made up mostly of Turks. That is what I feel is in need of expanding,” she said.
Fethullah Gülen has been called the “most dangerous Islamist” in the world. He has amassed a fortune – - thanks, in part, to the CIA – - of $25 billion. This money has been used to transform the secular government of Turkey into an Islamic Republic under the Justice and Democratic Party (Adalet ve Kalkinma, AKP)- – a party under the Gülen’s control.
Abdullah Gul, Turkey’s first Islamist President, is a Gülen disciple along with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Yusuf Ziya Ozcan, the head of Turkey’s Council of Higher Education.
Under the AKP, Turkey has transformed from a secular state into an Islamic country with 85,000 active mosques – - one for every 350- citizens – - the highest number per capita in the world, 90,000 imams, more imams than teachers and physicians – - and thousands of state-run Islamic schools.
Turkey, as Rachel Sharon-Krespin points out in Middle East Forum, has never seen a single incident of attacks on pious Muslims for fasting during Ramadan, whereas in recent years there have been many incidents of attacks on less-observant Turks for drinking alcohol or not fasting and on Christian clerics, including the recent murder of a Catholic bishop. While women who cover their heads in the Islamic manner can move freely in any area of the country, uncovered women are increasingly unwelcome in certain regions and are often physically assaulted by observant Islamists.
AKP leaders, including Gül and Erdoğan, have repeatedly expressed their opposition to the “imprisonment of Islam in the mosque,” demanding that it become omnipresent as the prevailing force throughout modern Turkey.
Ms. Mogahed call for the expansion of the Gülen movement throughout the world has failed to evoke a negative remark or comment from the national press.
Born in Egypt, Ms. Mogahed has been a staunch defender of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). Both of these US groups are tied to the Muslim Brotherhood.
In addition to her White House position, Ms. Mogahed serves as the Director of the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies.

Radical Islamic Schools Thrive Throughout America

Network Drains Millions from American Taxpayers

Turkish Muslims, under the leadership of Fethullah Gulen, have established over 85 madrassahs (Islamic schools) throughout the United States to further the cause of radical Islam. The madrassahs, set up as “charter schools,” receive millions from U.S. taxpayers and serve to promote “education jihad” by radicalizing students to promote a universal caliphate.

How dangerous are the Gulen schools?

Consider Tarek ibn Ziyad (TIZA) Academy in Inner Grove Heights, Minnesota – a charter school with 300 students – almost all Muslims. TIZA was established in 2003, and received $4.7 million from Minnesota taxpayers in 2008 – 2009. It is named after Tarek ibn Ziyas, the Muslim warlord who conquered Spain.

Students at TIZA pray Islamic prayers; the cafeteria serves halal food; and Islamic studies are held within the building every day. The

entranceway is inscribed with passages from the Koran and the Hadith. Recently, a TIZA teacher testified that one of her duties was taking the female students to the restroom in order to supervise their ritual washing before the Friday prayer service.

TIZA is so radically Islamic and subversive in nature that the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has initiated a lawsuit to shut it down. In the suit, the ACLU maintains that the school requires female teachers to be covered “from neck to wrist and ankle,” and female students to wear full-length dresses (jihaabs). Yet the Minnesota Department of Education ruled that TIZA is neither an Islamic nor a religious school.

The decision remains quizzical in light of the fact that TIZA is closely linked to the Muslim American Society (MAS) of Minnesota, which occupies space within the school building. MAS has been called “the Muslim equivalent of the Neo-Nazi party.”

“It is the de facto arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in the U.S.,” said Steven Emerson, director of the Investigative Project on Terrorism. “The agenda of the MAS is to … impose Islamic law in the U.S., to undermine U.S. counterterrorism policy.”

MAS was founded by members of the Muslim Brotherhood, an international Islamist movement created in Egypt in 1928. Radical members of the Brotherhood founded the terror group Hamas and were among the first members of Al Qaeda. The Muslim American Society’s former secretary general has acknowledged that the group was founded by the Brotherhood, and in 2004 he estimated that about half of MAS members were in the Muslim Brotherhood. “Ikhwan [Brotherhood] members founded MAS, but MAS went way beyond that point of conception,” Shaker Elsayed told the Chicago Tribune, explaining that the group had expanded to include a wider viewpoint.

The Department of Justice has never taken action against MAS and declined to comment on whether it was investigating the group’s ties.

Charles Samuelson, Minnesota’s Executive Director of the ACLU, says that the Gulen charter school funnels money – derived from US taxpayers – to MAS without a word of censure from the Minnesota Department of Education or the Internal Revenue officials who supervise the activities of non-profit schools and organizations. The Minnesota chapter of MAS featured writings on its website from Islamic clerics praising Hamas and urging Muslims to “wage Jihad until death.”

Last December, the Minnseota chapter funded Rep. Keith Ellison’s trip to Mecca. Ellison, a Democrat, became the first U.S. congressman to make a hajj.

“Their founding ideologues are all members of the Muslim Brotherhood,” Emerson said. “I don’t think you can get more radical in the United States without crossing the line to incitement.”

TIZA is not unique. Other Gulen schools within the U.S., including the Beehive Academy in Salt Lake City, the Chesapeake Science Point School in Washington D.C., and the Sonoran Academy in Tucson have been charged with indoctrinating students in the tenets of radical Islam so they may be of service in the restoration of the Ottoman Empire and the creation of an Islamic world order.

Most of these schools are staffed by Turkish teachers – primarily male – who reportedly are bound by tuzuk – an obligatory pay back of 40 percent of their wages to the Gulen movement.

Part 2.

A Gulen school where students are indoctrinated in the tenets of radical Islam to bring about a New World Order under Sharia (Islamic law) may operate within walking distance to your home or business. Your tax dollars might be used to further “education jihad.” Your children or kids in your hometown might be groomed to take part in the restoration of the Ottoman Empire and the creation of a universal caliphate.

It sounds preposterous. But it’s true.

You may even think that an ecumenical educational enterprise – such as a charter school operated by recent émigrés from Turkey – is worthy of support. Think again. The Gulen schools are so subversive that they have been outlawed in such countries as Russia and Uzbekistan. The funding for these institutions has been curtailed in the Netherlands.

The Gulen schools – which fuel the Gulen movement – have been responsible for transformation of Turkey from a secular state into an Islamic country with 85,000 active mosques – one for every 350 citizens – the highest number per capita in the world, 90,000 imams, more imams than teachers and physicians – and thousands of state-run Islamic schools.

Yet Gulen schools flourish throughout the U.S.A. – 85 such schools are already in existence and dozens more are expected to open next year. All are funded by American taxpayers.

You might think of schools called “the Beehive Academy” or “the Chesapeake Science Point School” as altruistic institutions that serve the common good of the American people, but names are deceptive and the Gulen movement operates under the Islamic principle of taqiyya or “holy deception.”

Fethullah Gulen, the 68-year-old founder of the schools and the movement, represents an embodiment of this principle. In his public statements, Gulen has espoused a liberal version of Sunni/Hanafi Islam by promoting the Muslim notion of hizmet – altruistic service to the common good. He has condemned terrorism, advocated interfaith dialogue, and met with such religious dignitaries as Pope John Paul II, the Greek Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomeos, and Israeli Sephardic Head Rabbi Eliyahu Bakshi-Doron.

In private, Gulen has stated that in order to reach the ideal Muslim society “every method and path is acceptable, [including] lying to people.”

Nurettin Veren, a top administrator of the Gulen schools says: “These schools are like shop windows. Recruitment and Islamization activities are carried out through night classes.”

Bayram Balcri, a leading Turkish scholar, writes: “Fethullah’s aim is the Islamization of Turkish nationality and the Turcification of Islam in foreign countries. Dozens of Fethullah’s ‘Turkish schools’ abroad – most of which are for boys – are used to covertly ‘convert,’ not so much ‘in school,’ but through direct proselytism ‘outside school. Gulen wants to revive the link between state, religion, and society.”

Gulen has the financial means to achieve this objective. His movement has amassed more than $25 billion in assets. And he works to topple governments, indoctrinated youth, and create the New Islamic World Order not from Islamabad or Istanbul but rather from his heavily guarded mountain fortress in Pennsylvania.

Are the CIA and U.S. State Department Supporting a New Islamic World Order? (Part One)

Court transcripts show that Fethullah Gulen and his vast empire of radical madrassahs (religious schools), which stretch from coast to coast, is supported by the Central Intelligence Agency and the U.S. State Department. This evidence came to light during the proceedings in the Eastern District Court in Philadelphia where Gulen applied for permanent resident alien status.
His application was accompanied by a letters of endorsement from former CIA Deputy Director Graham Fuller, former Under Secretary of State Marc Grossman, and former Ambassador to Turkey Morton Abramowitz. Could it be that Osama bin Laden’s hope for a universal caliphate ruled by Sharia (Islamic law) is not an idle pipe dream?
That dream is becoming a reality in Turkey – thanks to Gulen, who remains sheltered in the U.S., and operates with the blessings of the Obama administration. Gulen fled to the United States from his native Turkey in 1998 to avoid prosecution on charges that he was attempting to undermine Turkey’s secular government with the objective of establishing an Islamic government.
Since his arrival in Pennsylvania, the Department of Homeland Security has been trying to deport him. But the federal court, thanks to the letters of endorsement, ruled in favor of granting Gulen permanent residency status. The ruling maintained that the Turkish scholar was an individual with “extraordinary ability in the field of education” who deserved the shelter and protection of the American government. The ruling remains quizzical since Gulen received scant formal education.
Gulen has been called the “most dangerous Islamist” in the world. He has amassed a fortune – thanks, in part, to the CIA – of $25 billion. This money has been used to transform the secular government of Turkey into an Islamic Republic under the Justice and Democratic Party (Adalet ve Kalkinma, AKP) – a party under the Gulen’s control. Abdullah Gul, Turkey’s first Islamist President, is a Gulen disciple along with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Yusuf Ziya Ozcan, the head of Turkey’s Council of Higher Education.
Under the AKP, Turkey has transformed from a secular state into an Islamic country with 85,000 active mosques – one for every 350- citizens – the highest number per capita in the world, 90,000 imams, more imams than teachers and physicians – and thousands of state-run Islamic schools.
Despite the rhetoric of European Union accession, Turkey has transferred its alliance from Europe and the United States to Russia and Iran. It has moved toward friendship with Hamas, Hezbollah, and Syria and created a pervasive anti-Christian, anti-Jewish, and anti-America animus throughout the populace.
Gulen has also established thousands of schools throughout central Asia and Europe. According to Bayram Balci, a Turkish scholar, the Gulen schools seek to expand “the Islamization of Turkish nationality and the Turification of Islam” in order to bring about a universal caliphate ruled by Islamic law.
Because of their subversive nature of these institutions, these schools have been outlawed in Russia and Uzbekistan. Even the Netherlands, a nation that embraces pluralism and tolerance, has opted to cut funding to the Gulen schools because of their imminent threat to the social order.
But Gulen’s 85 schools in the United States which advance the establishment of a New Islamic World Order have received little national attention. Gulen resides on a 28 acre mountain fortress in Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania. He remains surrounded by an army of over 100 Turkish Islamists, who guard him and tend to his needs. Members of the army, who wear suits and ties rather than traditional Islamic garb, refrain from marrying until age 50, per Gulen’s instructions. When they do marry, their spouses are expected to dress in the Islamic manner, as dictated by Gülen himself.
The Saylorsburg property consists of a massive chalet surrounded by numerous out buildings, including recreational centers, dormitories, a helicopter pad, and firing ranges.Neighbors have complained of sounds of gunfire from fully automatic weapons within the compound and the presence of a low flying helicopter that circles the area in search of all intruders.
What is so extraordinary about the letters in support of Gulen? Why do these letters provide proof positive that an alliance has been formed between the political hierarchy of the United States and radical Islam? Stay tuned. The answers are coming tomorrow.

Has the Universal Caliphate Emerged from Pennsylvania? Is the CIA Serving the Needs of an Islamist?

(Part Two)

Thanks to former CIA operative Graham Fuller and members of the U.S. State Department, Fethullah Gulen, dubbed “the most dangerous Islamist on planet earth,” has obtained permanent residency status and may remain within his mountain fortress in Pennsylvania for the rest of his life.

Mr. Fuller submitted a petition in favor of Gulen’s application for a green card to a federal judge in Philadelphia. The ex-CIA official said that Gulen merits shelter and protection within the United States because he is an individual with “extraordinary ability in the field of education."

Gulen lacks a high school diploma. Why would Fuller endorse an émigré who fled Turkey to escape charges of sedition for his attempt to overthrow the government and establish a New Islamic World Order? The answer comes from the transcripts and investigative reporter Sibil Edmonds.

During the Clinton administration, the CIA began to fund the Gulen and his movement with millions derived from drug trafficking – including the revenues amassed by Turkish underworld figures (bubas) from the flow of heroin from Afghanistan through northern Iran to Turkey.

With the money, Gulen established radical madrassahs (Islamic schools) and cemaats (Muslim communities) throughout the Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmernistan and newly-formed Russian republics in order to gain control of the vast oil and natural gas reserves of these developing countries.

The movement grew to attract more than six million Muslim adherents, who supported Gulen’s attempt to restore the Ottoman Empire and to establish a universal caliphate.

By 1999, the CIA began to support Gulen’s effort to topple the secular government in Turkey so that he could have a firm base to gain control of the newly created countries in central Asia. When Turkish officials became aware of Gulen’s intent, they moved to arrest him on charges of sedition. Gulen fled the country for the United States where he received special immigration status as “a religious worker.”

With billions in backing, Gulen established his mountain fortress in Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania, where he continued to puppeteer events in Turkey through the Justice and Democratic Party (Adalet ve Kalkinma, AKP) – a political party of his creation.

With the elections of 2002, the AKP gained absolute control of the Turkish government.

It has moved toward friendship with Hamas, Hezbollah, and Syria and created a pervasive anti-Christian, anti-Jewish, and anti-America animus throughout the populace – thanks in part to Gulen who, in recent years, from his Pocono hideaway, has gained support of his movement from Saudi Arabia and Iran. Good night, Israel.

Several countries have become aware of the danger Gulen represents. His movement has been outlawed in Russia and Uzbekistan. Even the Netherlands, a nation that embraces pluralism and tolerance, has moved to cut funding to the Gulen madrassahs because of their imminent threat to the social order.

But Gulen’s dream of a New Islamic World Order continues to gain support and momentum throughout the Muslim world. The CIA still nurtures the belief that the Gulen movement will succeed in uniting the Muslims of Central Asia and, thereby, gain control of the natural resources of these countries for the so-called “good” of the American people. Osama bin Laden’s notion of a universal caliphate is no longer an idle pipedream.

That’s why Graham Fuller, former Deputy Director, endorsed Gulen’s application for permanent residency status. Mr. Fuller presently serves as a consultant for the RAND Corporation. Other RAND consultants include former Secretaries of State Henry Kissinger and Condoleeza Rice, former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfield, and James Scheslinger, former secretary of Defense and Energy.

RAND, a so-called “think tank” that offers analysis to the Defense Department, has been labeled a CIA front.

In the past, Mr. Fuller has offered his ringing approval of other radical Islamic movements. He characterized Tabligh Jamaat as “peaceful and apolitical preaching-to-the-people movement.” Sheikh Mubarek Gilani came to the United States in 1969 as a Tabligh Jamaat missionary. Ten years later, he formed Jamaat ul-Fuqra and established Islamic paramilitary compounds throughout the country.

Jamaat ul-Fuqra, under Gilani’s leadership, has been involved in more terror attacks on American soil (thirty and counting) than all the other terrorist groups, including al Qaeda and Hezbollah, combined. It has and sponsored assassinations, kidnappings, mass murder, grand theft, and fraud. It was largely responsible for the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center.

But Gulen’s application was not only endorsed by Mr. Fuller but also by former Under Secretary of State Marc Grossman, and former Ambassador to Turkey Morton Abramowitz. The significance of their endorsement is more revealing and disturbing.

Stay tuned. The worst is yet to come.
